Mechanical MIDI Percussion is a MIDI controlled percussion instrument. As MIDI notes are received by the Arduino, solenoids are triggered and strike various found objects. Each object creates a different percussive sound, ranging from metallic strikes, cymbal-like sounds, to pitched “plinks”. An add-on library was used to allow for the instrument to be sequenced via MIDI over USB.
