Upfront Disclosure
TouchDesigner, Kinect
Upfront Disclosure is an interactive installation which provokes a discussion on data collection and surveillance in contemporary society. The installation presents an interface which visualizes hypothetical data and profit that is being generated without the user’s consent or knowledge. It is meant to unveil the processes which occur during most interactions with the internet in this era.

Upfront Disclosure uses a Kinect motion sensing device to track the position of users within the installation space. It then translates this positional information into a variety of data metrics as a way of metaphorically “uncovering” the hidden consequences of our daily online activity.

The project was built with TouchDesigner and the Kinect v2.
